Learn how to x-ray an egg
02 January 2008
In this video clip, you are going to learn how to x-ray an egg. The video is have with us some easy and yet scientific way of doing it. I know it's a bit difficult to understand what's the science behind it. However this is what I found:
"The carbon from the flame is hydrophobic. It repells water. So when emersed in water there is a layer of air bubbles around the egg. The light reflects inside these bubbles making the egg apear smaller. It is not the yoke, but an image of the egg from inside these bubbles which makes it appear smaller..."
Maybe you can try this simple experiment at home.
