15 years ago, there's this young boy often catch a glimpse on her neighbour's daugther. This young boy doesn't know why, but he never stop admiring this young girl. Once in awhile if his mother bake some cakes, he will deliver a few pieces to next door. "Aunty, aunty, my ma ma give you some cakes..." he shouted gentlely but with his eyes scouting for the young girl from the door steps. If lucky enough he can caught her practicing ballet in the living room. He like to watch her dancing gracefully, ever so beautiful. Then one day he was watching a tv series. Then he wonder why the actor is giving the actress a flower. His mom says that the giving flower is a form of respect and admiration. Knowing that he with just a few coins in his pocket he barely have enough for flowers. Smart enough, he snap off his mom's sun flower and wrap it in newspaper. He went to next door to give away the flower to the girl. But unfortunately she's on vacation with her family. A few days later she came back. He is so happy but the flower already dead. He is sad and something struck his mind. Quickly he grab a drawing paper and paste those flowers on it. Then he color the flower with crayon and draw some petals on it. After completing it, without hesitation he rushed to next door and pass her the painting. "Thank you Ah Xiong di di", then the young boy smile blushedly and ran home. Admiration turn into crush. However it did not last long until the day she left when her dad got posted in other states. The day before her departure, the boy collected a number of sun flower seeds and packed it in a small box. He gave her the box..."These seeds will become flowers. You will have fresh life flowers everyday..." she give him a warm hug before bidding good bye. Everything just happen so pure and decent of two young soul. My mom still keep in touch with her parents. I got her email address from them. Knowing that she love beach and sands, I decide to send her a Build A Sandcastle e-card. Hopefully she will love it...
